The Grapevine
Greetings Memphis Bop Club Members!
Memphis Bop Club 2010 Budget
At our 2010 Valentine’s party, the 2010 budget report was presented to the membership. The membership voted to approve the budget as presented.
February 2010 Membership Meeting and Valentines Party
In addition to approving the budget at the membership meeting, we had a great Valentine’s party. Jackie Allensworth and her decorating crew always do an outstanding job. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work!!
There were 135 people present at the meeting and that makes for a great dance. We need large crowds every Friday night, so keep showing up and invite your friends and family. Winners of the $50.00 gift certificates were Cindy Nolen, Francis Bogue, and Bud Cowgill. Congratulations to the winners.
Activities
Be sure an look at your calendars for activities involving the club. Barbara Cooley and Wayne Maxey have lots of activities planned that are other than the Friday night dances. It is a great feeling to cheer up the lives of other less fortunate people. Don’t forget Saint Patrick’s Day at The Memphis Bop Club on Friday, March 19, 2010.
Dancing Fun
Anyone who has attended Barbara and Wayne’s dance lessons has heard Wayne say “we come here for three reasons: (1) To have fun, (2) To meet people and make new friends, and (3) To learn to dance. I urge everyone to read your by-laws regarding disorderly conduct. The pertinent paragraphs are: SECTION VI – CLUB FUNCTIONS: B. Disorderly Conduct: and C. Improper Conduct:. Lets not do anything to cause the enforcement of these paragraphs. Lets all have fun and have respect for your fellow dancers.
